Now all I need is some grass in the yard.

My kennel is named after my three daughters.  Carissa, Miranda, and Jaclyn

When my girls were in 4-H they decided Cairns and Yorkies were too hard to obedience train so we bought them Australian Shepherds to work with and I have to admit they were easier to train.  To the right is Ali and Destiny who were raised by Ali's Yorkie momma.  At 4 weeks of age Destiny was larger than her mom so was weaned early but she always thought of Ali as her sister.

Raising puppies, Cairn and Yorkshire Terriers has been a big part of my life as 26 years ago I started  out with wonderful little Cairn Terriers.  I named my kennel after my three young daughters.  Carissa, Miranda, and Jaclyn, thus Car-Mir-Jac.  Now Carissa is a RN working at a dialysis unit, Miranda is going back to school to become an elementary teacher and Jaclyn is working in Washington, DC while her husband is in Iraq.  Raising puppies has been an enjoyable occupation for a young stay at home mom and what fun the children had with all the puppies.  With lives of their own I now have the 3 grandkids to help out with the socialization and even as a grandma I am still having a lot of fun raising puppies.

About 17 years ago I decided to try my hand at raising Yorkies, a breed I had always wanted since grade school.  They are quite a challenge but I so enjoy them all.  They are a little more spoiled acting than the Cairns but you just have to love them.

I was born in Lamar and have lived my whole life here.  Last year I built my dream house a few yards away from the old one and so enjoy living in a nice new house.  My daughter, Miranda, is now living in the remodeled older sandstone house built in 1860.  It is quite peaceful here in the country.  My new view is of our paint horses in the front pasture, cows in the south pasture and deer out the back door.
